A Home Away from Home
We stayed at a local guesthouse, called Jeym Lodge, that provided a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The room was spacious and well-equipped, with all the amenities we needed, including a king sized bed and bathtub!
Upon arriving in Thoddoo, we were eager to explore its famous bikini beach. The island is renowned for its long stretches of white sand and clear blue waters. Our toddler was thrilled to play in the sand and paddle in the gentle waves. The beach was quiet and clean, offering a perfect spot for families to relax.
In the evening, we took a leisurely stroll around the island. Thoddoo is known for its agriculture, and we were fascinated by the lush fields of watermelon and papaya. The locals were friendly and eager to share insights about their farming practices. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at a local restaurant, with fresh fruits and seafood.
We started our second day with a delicious breakfast at the guesthouse, featuring fresh mashuni, sausage, eggs - a local Maldivian breakfast. Then, it was back to the beach for more fun in the sun. The shallow waters were perfect for our toddler to play safely, and we enjoyed some quality family time building sandcastles and swimming. In the afternoon, we explored more of Thoddoo's attractions. We visited a goat farm and learned more about the island's agriculture.
